Aer Lingus took its first examples of the twin engines A330-300 in 1994 for its trans-Atlantic services where it pioneered ETOPS operation. Four aircraft arrived on lease from ILFC in 1994/1995 with a further secondhand machine arriving from Air Inter in 1997.

These aircraft were all early model A330-301s which were replaced by four examples of the more capable A330-302X model in 2007-2010.

The A330-300s continue to operate on high demand routes to the USA and also appear on European holiday routes to Malaga and the Canary Islands during the summer season.

All aircraft are currently in a Two Class 24J/298Y configuration with lie flat seats in Business Class and personal AVOD entertainment throughout.
